We distribute 25,000 meals to our communities every week through 75+ nonprofit distribution partners.To date, more than 4 million meals and $17 million has been invested locally through meals prepared by community for community.Our partner kitchens employ 80+ culinary workers at 19 kitchen sites producing our meals. We invest in local restaurants and caterers.Partner kitchens are paid at cost for their work, which means they employ more workers and are better able to weather downtimes for their businesses. Restaurants and caterers that are committed to hunger-relief and cook meals that meet our neighbors’ needs are selected and matched with local nonprofits to serve neighbors. We listen to what our neighbors want and more than 50% of our meals are made by BIPOC-led or owned restaurants and caterers.Kitchen Coalition begins by listening to neighbors and community leaders to understand the need for prepared meals and ensure that the meals represent their dietary needs, such as halal, kosher, global cuisine or simply comfort food. 60% of the ingredients our restaurants and caterers use come from Second Harvest Heartland.Second Harvest Heartland serves as the connector, bringing food and funds to neighborhoods. Then, trusted nonprofits get those meals to neighbors on a predictable schedule. So, we’ve built a network of local restaurants and caterers who turn food bank ingredients into nutritious, freshly prepared meals. This includes individuals and families with inconsistent access to a kitchen, people with challenges caused by physical mobility issues or illness, or those who are managing a crisis, challenge or time of transition. We know that not everyone facing hunger has the home, health, or ability to use the groceries our food bank offers. We asked them what they want to experience when they go out to eat. We are delighted to work alongside Got It Covered and G+K Events Hire, who decorate and style all of our weddings and large conference groups at Harvest Kitchen. Harvest Kitchen was created by neighborhood parents, chefs, nutritionists, and food lovers. The Appleby Room has doors which open out on a lovely lawn area which is perfect for pre-dinner canapés and drinks on a summer evening. This beautiful room is ideal for wedding receptions, conference dinners, or as a large meeting room. Our larger "Appleby Room" seats up to 160 pax for dinner. Our Upstairs "Vines Room” which looks out over the vineyard, caters for smaller groups of up to 60 pax - The Vines Room has its own private bar and balcony. We have two specialty function rooms for hire ideal for your event. They put a delicious dinner menu together for us (fish and barbacoa tacos, black beans, spanish rice, and broccolini), and the appetizers were incredible too (ceviche, mojo shrimp, chips and guac). Alongside the Restaurant, Harvest Kitchen offers fully catered in-house functions - weddings, conferences, meetings, concerts and more. Harvest Kitchen catered our wedding in May, and the food and experience was incredible.
